Joshua Williams
Elementary School
Joshua, my son, is an avid reader and a role model to others. Joshua brings a book with him wherever he goes. I have to always remove the book from his room at bedtime or he will be up all night reading. Joshua eats all his vegetables and his favorite vegetable is broccoli. When Joshua was 5 years old he saw hungry children on TV and he was devastated. He then said he found his purpose – to help the less fortunate. No child should be hungry. All children should have access to nutritious food and food.

Alec Halberstadt
Middle School
Alec Halberstadt is a 12-year-old who has found a way to keep healthy while also helping others. Every Friday night and Sunday afternoon he’s at the park volunteering as a “Buddy Coach” for the local Buddy Ball team. The team was set up so that high functioning kids with autism and related disabilities could have the opportunity to learn to play sports without the pressure of the regular leagues. They play baseball on Friday nights and basketball on Sunday afternoons. Alec is always there to encourage the kids to have a good time.

Jacob Goldberg
High School
My son Jacob was born legally blind, so he’s never seen the world like everybody else does: he sees it in his own way. His vision has never come in the way of achievement. Jacob is an honor student and he has high hopes for college. He also trains for half-marathons and triathlons throughout the year. While he could do this for himself, Jacob runs for an organization he started, Together We See. His efforts have helped him raise over $45,000 for blind children to attend summer camp.
