If my child has a high fever like 104 should I put him into a cold bath?
No. You may use tap-water-soaked towels to cool the patient. Once the towels feel hot, remove and re-wet the towels. If the patient is older than 6 months, you may give Motrin every 6 hours, or Tylenol every 4 hours. If the patient is less than 6 months, use only Tylenol. Always notify your primary care physician.
At what point should I take my child to the emergency room, and when should I just give childrens tylenol, and send them to bed?
Any time a parent is concerned with a child’s health and cannot reach their primary care physician, they should always go to the nearest emergency room for evaluation.
